YOU are what you eat and drink. This is one of the things that
award-winning actress and cancer prevention advocate Lorna Tolentino
learned from her experience with her husband's battle against cancer.

"My family and I are now more aware of the importance of maintaining
good health," the wife and mom reveals. "A simple habit like taking
Vitamin C everyday goes a long way."

Lorna recently partnered with Ascorbic Acid POTEN-CEE to encourage
people to practice simple lifestyle changes that would help reduce
the risk of developing degenerative diseases such as cancer.

"This is an experience that nobody should go through," she says of
her husband's battle with ampullary cancer, one of the rarest forms
of the disease. "That's why this early, even before one is hit by
any disease, we should already develop healthy lifestyle habits."

Six simple habits to prevent cancer.

There are simple practices that a person can do to strengthen one's
defenses against diseases.

Eat fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants.
Antioxidants are substances that reduce, neutralize, and prevent the
damage done to the body by free radicals that cause damage to cells,
leading to the possible development of cancer. Fruits and vegetables
rich in antioxidants include yellow and orange vegetables, green
leafy vegetables, red and green peppers, broccoli, strawberries,
tomatoes, cranberries and plums.

Don't smoke. According to the American Cancer Society, cigarette
smoking is a major cause of cancers of the lung, larynx, oral
cavity, pharynx esophagus, and bladder, and it contributes to the
development of cancers of the pancreas, cervix, kidney, stomach, and
leukemia.

Exercise. Medical research continues to reveal the cancer-fighting
benefits of exercise and the link between physical activity and
cancer prevention. Scientists have begun to discover the connection
between regular sustained workouts and the prevention of several
types of cancers, among them intestinal, endometrial, colon, breast
and lung.

Regulate your alcohol intake. Studies show that excessive alcohol
consumption increases the risk of cancers of the mouth, pharynx
(throat), larynx (voice box), esophagus, liver, and breast, and
probably of the colon and rectum.

People who drink alcohol should limit their intake to no more than 2
drinks per day for men and 1 drink per day for women.

Avoid fatty foods. Although results are still inconclusive, there
is evidence that certain types of fats, such as saturated fats, may
increase cancer risk. Diets high in fat tend to be high in calories
and, therefore, may contribute to obesity, which in turn is linked
with an increased risk of cancers of the breast (among
postmenopausal women), colon, endometrium, esophagus, and kidney.

Take Vitamin C daily. Research indicates that daily intake of 100%
pure Vitamin C, such as Ascorbic Acid POTEN-CEE, helps strengthen
the immune system against simple to degenerative diseases that can
build over time, including certain cancers.

A healthy lifestyle is truly one's best defense against developing
serious illnesses such as cancer. And, a daily dose of Poten-Cee
Vitamin C helps make prevention easier and simpler to practice.
