Lorna Tolentino arrived at the press conference with a smile and
feeling game to answer all the questions from the media yesterday
November 20, at Annabel's Restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Her newest Poten-Cee endorsement featured a video of Lorna telling
how she feels being the wife of a cancer patient, actor Rudy
Fernandez. Also in the video, Lorna encouraged the people to take
medicine to prevent cancer and other diseases.

When asked why she agreed to speak about cancer for her endorsement,

The actress admitted that when they shot the video, Lorna felt what
other people called "kirot sa puso" in each of her lines. She

Siyempre
wala namang may gustong magkasakit, e, di ba? So, naging maingat kami
doon.
puso."

She added, "It's the line. Yung linya talaga kasi it's what's
sinasabi."

How did Rudy react when she informed him about her latest
endorsement?

"Happy siya regarding yung Poten-Cee kasi, sabi nga niya, at least
maraming magiging aware. Medyo yung ibang tao kasi, medyo naging
nararamdaman. Mabuti na yung napre-prevent right away," Lorna said.

Lorna does not have a TV commercial for the said product yet. The
video was just a clip from Lorna's statement about the product's
advocacy—healthy living. Pascual Laboratories, makers of Ascorbic
Acid Poten-Cee, said that this is just a viral video that will be
passed on to several people and will be uploaded in some video-
hosting sites.

HOLDING UP. Since Lorna talked about cancer in her latest
endorsement, the media could not avoid asking about the latest
condition of her husband who is, as they openly tell in their
interviews, suffering from a rare kind of cancer, the periampullary
cancer.

This type forms near the ampulla of Vater, an enlargement of the
ducts from the liver and pancreas where they join and enter the small
intestines. Rudy is currently having his radiation treatment at the
Cancer Center of the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan.

"Second week of radiation namin nitong week na 'to," Lorna started
narrating. "So naka-five na siya, six kahapon, so seven today. Bale
three weeks pa, three weeks to go. But then, mayroon siyang isang
week na free siya ng radiation.

"We'll try, 'no, habang nagra-radiation siya, doon sa free time niya,
lesion niya. Hindi pa sigurado kasi che-check up-in pa ulit."

The actress described her husband as someone who really has the will
to fight his illness. She said, "He is [holding up]. He is a fighter,
strong ang will to fight. Very positive naman kasi talaga si Rudy.
Nilalabanan niya talaga. Lahat, kahit siguro kung ano yung
nararamdaman niya. Yung masakit, hindi niya iniisip."

To prove that Rudy does not mind the pain caused by his treatments,
Lorna said, "Nag-badminton pa nga siya nung Sunday. Ka-badminton niya
sila Ipe, si Bong, yun. Ganun katindi ang fighting spirit niya."

Whenever Rudy and Lorna are together, the couple tries to avoid
thinking of sad moments. Lorna said, "Kapag kaming dalawa lang kasi

Lorna also said that Rudy really wants to work again if his health
would only permit him to do so.

"Si Rudy gustung-gusto magtrabaho kaya nga lang ayaw niyang mabitin,
alam mo naman ang showbiz. Ang problema kasi sa showbiz, yung sa work
natin, hindi pwedeng, `Cut-off ako ng 12, ha?' Walang ganun. Hindi,
hanggang madaling araw ka kahit may sakit ka basta kailangan ka. So
huwag na lang."

After talking about Rudy's current condition, the media dared to ask
the actress how they are holding up financially. Lorna stopped for a
moment and answered, smiling, "I have so many rich friends." She then
laughed out loud, "Gusto mo 'yon? `We have so many rich friends.' Ang
dami-daming kaibigan, ang dami-daming tao [na tumutulong]. "

She answered one reporter's question, "[Am I] Lucky? Super lucky."
